    • Diablo 4 Upcoming Beta Guide - Must Try Builds for Sorcerer

Today we are going over must-try builds for the beta. I wanted to do something more akin to the game because I had just been super excited. I've been messing around with some builds and such, but these are not going to be the top five min max best builds ever. These are ones that I highly suggest that you try, either because they're super crazy, because they do something really fun, or that they are going to be solid in general. Again, I don't promise they will be the absolute best bosculars, best wavecleers. Still, they're going to be a build that's going to be very usable and very solid for you to level quickly as well as enjoy the beta.

Now there is a couple of things with the Sorcerer that I want to mention. From what we can tell, they did nerf the chain lightning; however, the basic is still solid. Okay, now of these four basics, there's no question, I was hoping that Fire Bolt would be better than it was. I recommended some people take Fire Bolt. However, I was wrong based on my testing after the fact. And that means that flickering Arc Lash plus Arc Lash is just so good it's an AOE basic you just hit. You have to be in the melee range, which is a consideration. But Arc Lash is just so good.

I recommend you go triple points into it. You could go one point into your core skill and come back and getting the movement speed. Or you don't even have to go for the movement speed if you don't want it. But enhanced Arc Lash is going to be important. And then we come to the core skills, and this is where it gets more interesting because we have the Chain Lightning being nerfed. But guess what? Chain Lightning will still be the most damaging, which is the most fun to me. I don't care. I like damage. I'm sure a lot of you also like damage.

Okay, chain Lightning guys, the other skills, the other core skills, don't even come close if you're in a single target situation, which is the problem with Chain Lightning, right. That's why they nerfed it. Firebolt is quite good as well. Frozen Orb can be interesting. Ice Shards can be interesting. But those oftentimes are more for a little bit of utility. Chilling enemies, dealing extra damage to frozen enemies. And the ice build, the cold build is oftentimes way less damage than just running Hydra plus chain lightning.

Firebolt can be good. I like Firebolt, actually, in combination with Hydra, Incinerate. I hate incinerate. Do not run incinerate. I think Incinerate could be better. Unfortunately, it's burning doesn't do crazy amount of damage. You have to stand in place. The mana cost is too expensive. I think Incinerate could be better to me. Not very fun, could have been better. But you'll want to pick up enhanced Chain Lightning, greater Chain Lightning. It will allow you to do extra increased damage when it bounces off you.

Then we move over here and we're going to pick up Ice armor. And we can run Enhanced ice armor. Shimmering ice armor or mystical ice armor. But I prefer to run with just ice armor. Pretty nice. And it's going to help us out a lot. Now there are a few options. We have to put a couple more points in here to ensure we can run through and get some extra points. And there is a specific possibility that I enjoy making you unkillable. However, I recommend returning and putting some points into Arc Lash or Glass Cannon.

I will put a point into Glass Cannon, and then we run over to Hydra. We got to max out Hydra, guys. We can run Summoned Hydra or Enhanced Hydra. Summoned Hydra generally is going to give you more value. And then we want to put one point into align the elements. The nice thing about aligning the elements here is going to allow you to have permanent 50% damage reduction against elites simply because Ice Armor, assuming you're going to have barriers up permanently, will help you out.

Now there are a few other ways to get barrier and some items. So aligning the elements could only be as good as you're hoping for if you have those items. Ice Armor can help a ton and amp up your survivability.

However, if you're like me and you're like, who cares about survivability, you might want to pick up a Teleport to help you move around a little bit more or even potentially running with. You could run Ice Blades. You can run Lightning Spear, you can even run down here and pick up Ball Lightning. You can run all sorts of different options.

I like Firebolt a lot. So for me, generally speaking, what my build looks like is I'm going to pick up Fireblot down here. Firebolt has some high-damage multipliers. You can see 160% damage over 8 seconds. And so if you can look at Chain Lightning, 58.8% damage and bounces, right, so assuming you're going to hit them three times with 25% damage increasing each time, chain Lightning does about 200% damage, whereas Firebolt does almost 160% with one skill point into it. So Firebolt does a lot of damage, assuming you can keep them in the Firebolt, which is good against bosses. Okay, that will be Sorcerer, which will be the build's wrap-up.

    • Diablo 4 Updates: Story DLC, QOL Changes & More

Diablo 4 just got some new quality-of-life updates, as confirmed by Blizzard. A recent interview with the Devs reveals how much story content we can expect post-launch. Expect quarterly updates for Blizzard's upcoming ARPG, bringing new storylines associated with additional mechanics and game features. So not only will it be story stuff, but we're going to be getting something tied into the story that's revealing new game mechanics features.

In Game Informer's latest cover story, Diablo 4 associate game director Joe Papora said that while he hesitates to use the word expansion, the game's postlaunch quarterly updates will consist of additional story content that will be tied into the new game mechanics and features of each update. Now, updates will be accompanied by a new seasonal Battle Pass, which will come in free and premium forms. Blizzard has previously confirmed that the game's first season will not go live with Diablo 4 and will come sometime later. So it will be different from the season right out of the gates. We'll have to wait before that happens. Furthermore, it goes on to say this in the COVID story. Blizzard revealed two additional effects players must overcome when conquering Dabble force in the game Nightmare Dungeons.

One such effect will see an invincible pillar of lightning constantly chasing players throughout the dungeon. At the same time, another will add a shade that follows players and, if touched, will obscure their vision and summon additional enemies. It seems like it will be a bit more intense than what we've already experienced within the actual beta. Blizzard also shared a few new details about Hell Tides with Game Informer, clarifying that multiple areas can be affected by Hell Tides at once. Enemies will spawn within a hell tight borders, including remix versions of various bosses from throughout the game. But I'm also again kind of worried about the redundancy that could happen with various bosses appearing in Hell Tides as well as perhaps the dungeons because we already know the bosses will most likely repeat in these 120 dungeons, and to have them spread out through hell Tides.

I hope they have some different mechanics with them as well. But it is cool to note that hell tide events can be widespread all at once and drop in and out of the world. So that's a cool little detail right there. Now also, they did detail some UI improvements. Will the UI be updated with additional quality-of-life features before release? Some points can be addressed between beta and release. Joe Shelley said the UI would stay the same in that period simply because more time must be spent. Some issues, like bugs, need a faster transition, and others are more complex problems. Joe Shelley added we want the UI to be accessible to all kinds of players. There are a lot of factors we need to think about, and it was recently discovered that they adjusted the socket size for inventory. I'm also curious to see what else they will adjust in the future.

Diablo 4 lore book reveals a possible new foe with ties to an iconic boss. So yes, the lore book did reveal what is called the Maggot Queen. This is very much related to another enemy that was shown off in the Diablo 4 trailers previously. It looks pretty cool and challenging, but what's the difference? The maggot queen's appearance is Evocative of Darrell, the Lord of Pain. The lesser evil was the final boss of Act Two in Diablo 2, also called the Maggot King. Keen-eyed players that spotted him in the gameplay trailer and beta achievements know Darrell will be reappearing in Diablo Four. Given the similarities in their visual design and naming conventions, the Maggot Queen may be a powerful monster or even a miniboss that players must contend with when battling Darrell's minions.

That makes sense. And this could actually be one of those bosses or sub bosses that appear during hell tides that you might be facing off against on occasion, which would be really cool. If you want to prep for Diablo 4's launch, there is a cool and useful build calculator tool. You can select your class. Of course, there are your equipment pieces as well.

They even have some aspects you can expect that can modify your character. But yeah, you can really get in here, plot and plan what type of build you want to go for, and fine-tune it. So if you want to do like a bleed build, you can go all in for that, for the Barbarian, for example, and choose whatever class, like Rogue.
